WILSON

Wilson is one of 4 male kittens from The Great Gatsby litter. All named after characters from the book. He may not have gotten The Great name himself, but don’t be fooled this sleek little guy is no back up character. Wilson takes charge of his family. He looks just like his brother only he has 2 little wisps of white hairs, on his back and on his chest. Wilson likes to play hard with Buchanan and just about anything else that moves. He plays hard, struts around the room, flicking his tail then crashes and sleeps hard. When not in high energy kitten mode, he curl up in your lap for a snooze. Wilson plays a little too rough to live with small children so older kids and maybe a mellow dog. He needs a cat friend in his new home and gets on well with his brothers Buchanan and Gatsby. We estimate he was born May 14, 2009. Bio# 2839C GW

FIONA

Fiona is the type of cat who will greet you at the door, tell you of her adventurous day and then go back and sit quietly in her special spot of the moment. She can be shy to start out but will quickly warm up to you. She is sometimes a gal and is fine telling foster buddies to move away from her food. She definitely likes human companionship but also likes her space now and then. She will watch a movie with you on the couch and can easily keep up her side of the conversation. She could be a solo cat or live with another. She should be okay with calm kids over 8 and gentle dogs. We estimate she was born in mid 2007. Bio# 2699 C

CHOCO

This wonderful kitten has an independent spirit. He enjoys exploring, he's very playful, loves all kitty toys and especially the swishing tail of his favorite cat buddy in his foster home. Choco only has one eye because he was injured and abused by a human in Oakland who damaged his eye to the point where it had to be removed! Thankfully he was taken by ICRA and nursed back to health. Despite this harsh start in his young life, he purrs at your first touch and loves affection. He gets around quite well with the sight of one eye. He is more of a snuggly boy than a lap cat. He is easy going and doesn't let much upset him. He just is too busy enjoying life to worry. His coloring is a dark chocolate brown with subtle black stripes. We estimate he was born in May of 2009. He will need a cat friend at home. He might not mind a mellow dog and calm kids. Bio# 2821 LH

CHAROLETTE

Charolette is a busy body, fun and active kitty. She likes to run around and jump. She's a playful and quite friendly. Her brother is Othello, and her sister is Claudia. She needs another cat in her home, should be okay with calm kids over 8 and a calm dog. We estimate she was born April 28, 2008. Bio# 2717C FG

KLOE

Kloe is a beautiful young kitty. She was rescued with her sisters and their mom in Downtown Oakland. Kloe is a a very playful kitten. She can hold her own with any adult cat or kitten. She needs a cat friend in her home like her sister Kelsey. She won't mind kids over 5 and possibly a mellow dog. We estimate she was born in early April 2009. Bio# 2820A MB

INKY

Hi my name is Inky. My foster person says I'm very sweet, curious and adventurous. I like most everything! I love other cats. I love to climb, run and play. I also like being near my foster human. I will need a cat friend in my home. I adore being petted and groomed. I will be shy until I get to know you but once I warm up I am fine with calm kids over age 8 but haven't met a dog. They estimate I was born in February 2006. Bio# 2481B JI

BARKER

This little guy is reserved with new people but loves to play once he becomes comfortable. He is independent but likes to be entertained. As playful as he is at times he can also be mellow. When he wants to relax and feels secure he loves to find a lap to curl up on. Barker likes to stir things up so he needs a cat in his life who likes the same style of active play and doesn't mind standing up to him. He will need an adults only home, kids make him nervous. We estimate he was born July 15, 2007. Bio# 2600 CC

GATSBY

This small runt of the The Great Gatsby Liter has grown into his name. He now lives a lavish lifestyle similar to the nouveau riche Gatsby of Long Island, but this little guy definitely had a mysterious past that he doesn’t like to flaunt. The only sign of his past is the little crook in the tip of his tail. Broken from birth or scar from his first 8 weeks of life on the streets, searching for food with his 3 bigger brothers, he will never tell. Gatsby is sweet and rather regal now, but his street kitty comes out every once in awhile, which may make him not the greatest tough little guy to be with very young kids. He needs a cat friend in his new home and has two handsome brothers, Buchanan and Wilson. He should be fine with older children and maybe a mellow dog. We estimate he was born May 14, 2009. Bio# 2839B GW

PANTHER

Hi there! My name is Panther! Don't be be fooled by my intimidating name, for underneath my sleek black exterior is a sweet and sensitive spirit. I also have a white spot on my belly! I was rescued at a foreclosed home in Hayward around September 2008 by my foster. The owners left me, my 3 brothers and mom. We were very scared in the beginning. The owners only left us a bowl of food and water and we had nowehere to turn. Thank heavens we were found by a loving foster home. Now I have grown to appreciate humans and love them. After that nasty past of being outdoors I never want to see it again. At first I can be shy, but once I get to know you, I enjoy sitting on your tummy and being petted. My past-times include playing and wrestling with my brother Pawly and talking to the outdoor animals through the window in my secret language. I love to cuddle, but I can also be independent and play with my toys for hours. I am looking for a loving home and owner to call my home, and look forward to spending many years of fun and sweet memories with my family. I do need a companion since I am still a young boy, preferably my brother Pawly. I will probably do fine with calm kids over age 12. I was born around September 1, 2008. Bio# 030RR

MURPHY

A quiet and affectionate young cat once he bonds with his person, Murphy is also playful and curious. With strangers, Murphy is shy and needs time to warm up before he is himself. He will need patient encouragement by his new guardian until he has adjusted to his new home environment and can bond with his new family members. He enjoys the company of his brother, Max, in his foster home but he can be adopted separately from Max. Murphy would enjoy a home that has another cat or a possibly a cat-friendly, calm dog to cuddle and play with. He would likely do best in an adult only household. In June 2008, Murphy and his four siblings were rescued in Chinatown in Oakland shortly after their mother was struck and killed by a car. Murphy, Martin, Max and Millie are looking for loving homes. We estimate that they were born in early April 2008. Bio# 2730C BS

LARRY

Larry is very affectionate and probably a good lap cat when he settles in. He loves people and being held and petted. He's an alpha cat and would enjoy a friend, as long as they know he's the boss! Larry is a heavy duty boy and never misses a meal. He was found in a field, living on his own. Larry is so ready for a loving home! He is FIV+ , but he is asymptomatic and will most likely live a long, healthy life in your care. He could be a solo cat or live with a docile cat who doesn't mind if he is in charge. He should be fine with kids over age 12 and maybe a calm dog. We estimate he was born in 2001. Bio# 2497 DJ

TRISTAN

I'm Tristan and I am an unusual color for a cat. I am somewhere between a sable and chocolate brown in color. My brother Liam and I were rescued together and we were not sure if we should trust people at first. It took awhile to turn us around but our rescuer was determined to help us love people and didn't want to put us back where we'd been living on the streets of Oakland. It was a very unsafe area. I do need a home that is patient with me as I don't like change and can start off really shy. I need a home that will work with me on trusting folks and help me with my confidence level. Life on the streets was rough and being cared for is still something I am not used to yet. However, I do love to be petted and held. My estimated date of birth is May 2, 2007. SPARTA

Sparta is a feisty little boy who is full of energy. He loves racing around and wrestling with other kitties but his favorite activity is sneaking and pouncing. Although he enjoys having playmates, he is also very good at keeping himself entertained with a few toys. Once he has exhausted himself, he will look for a human to snuggle with for a quick nap. Sparta gets along with other cats as well as cat-friendly dogs. We estimate he was born on May 28, 2009. Bio# 2818 AP

BESS

Meet Bess! This sweet girl belonged to a friend of her foster home, who died suddenly. Bess took it hard, hiding and not eating for the first two weeks. She's adjusting now and doing fine. She's gentle and good-natured. She's affectionate, cuddly and loves to sit on your lap. Bess would prefer to be an only cat. Raised indoors and pampered since she was a kitten, she prefers pure protein like a cat probably should (aka tuna, ham, turkey)! Happy and healthy, Bess would make a wonderful companion for someone who likes to dote on their kitty. Are you the one? Bess would probably be okay with quiet kids over 12 and maybe a calm dog. We estimate she was born in 1999. Bio# 2772 DJ

PALI

Fast and energetic describes little Pali. He is full of love but also full of the dickens! He is a great little guy who loves playing with his siblings. He needs another cat friend in his home and his brother Flipper is wonderful. He should be okay with calm kids over 12 and maybe a mellow dog. We estimate he was born May 10, 2009. Bio# 2825C GC

CHOCOLATE

Chocolate is a good playful lap cat. He will play as hard as the bigger kittens and does some amazing leaps and backflips. He is quiet except for when he purrs. He is happy playing alone or with the other kittens. I think he would be excellent as a first kitten for a family or child and he's not afraid of people or children. He will need a cat friend to be his playmate. He should be okay with kids over age 5. We estimate he was born in March of 2009. Bio# 2789 AW

LUCY LOU

This sleek black beauty is a doll! She is curious, playful, and affectionate. Lucy Lou especially enjoys one on one time with you where she can be close, rub cheek to cheek with you, and cuddle. She gets along very well with other cats given proper introduction and time to adjust. Just short of tricks, Lucy Lou would do just about anything for a canned food treat! She has a very difficult time with change and the transition to a new home environment, so she will require a special process that must be followed for her move to a new home to be successful. Details can be discussed with anyone who is interested in adopting Lucy Lou. She is wonderful and worth it! She should be fine with children over 8 and calm dogs. She was born in the summer 2003. Bio# 1715A MB

BUCHANAN

CLEA

This sleek beauty, Clea, was born in early June 2003 in West Oakland. She has come a long way from being a shy/feral kitten and is now playful, comfortable, and affectionate with her rescuer and foster family. She is timid and fearful when meeting new people, so she will need to go to a quiet, patient, understanding, cat-experienced home where she will be given time to adjust and re-socialize to her new surroundings and new people. Clea would enjoy a home with another cat and she may do fine with a cat-friendly, calm dog. Bio# GR001 JV

COYOTE

This sweet little girl is very quiet and a bit shy to start. But she is curious and lovable and enjoys being petted and loved. She was born to a feral mom in an Alameda backyard. Coyote could be an only cat or go to a home with another cat. Children over 12 only please, and no dogs. We estimate she was born around May 29, 2008. Bio# 2721 GC

LONDON

London is a very busy boy. He loves to run around and get into everything. He likes to be loved and gives lots of love in return. He will start shy and needs extra attention to gain more confidence. He should be fine with children over age 8, might not mind a calm dog and definitely needs another cat friend at home. He'd love to be adopted with his brother Colby. We estimate he was born in November of 2006. Bio# 2512 FG

KENDA

This sweet baby girl is just learning to trust humans and purr for them. She's healthy, playful and lovely. She likes to be held and groomed even though she will start out shy with you. She loves her brother Daryle and friend Amy. We estimate she was born April 10, 2009. She'll do best with another cat friend, kids over 12 and maybe a quiet dog. Bio# 2812A GC

JUDE

Hello, I am Jude! "Hey Jude"...I am a slick and striking guy, don't you think? I have nice, soft, black fur like silk. I am a sweet and awesome guy who is an attention getter (ok attention hog). I love the attention of my person who will love me and hold me and cuddle with me. I follow you from from room to room at times and talk to you to remind you that I am close by and can be picked up anytime. I have a lovely sister named Jaslene. And a good buddy named Jules who I keep an eye on and watch out for. I love to be petted and groomed when I know you and feel safe. I am a fantastic, sweet purring guy. I will even purr at you if you are close by me, despite the fact that you are doing your own thing. I have a goofy side that my foster guardian gets a kick out of. I definitely need another cat friend in my new home. I will be a great addition to your family. It is estimated I was born in September of 2007. Bio# 2604B JI

BOO BOO BEAR

This beautiful chocolate colored kitten was rescued along with his blind mother, Helen. They were found in San Leandro after being abandoned. They had taken cover under a bush. He is a wonderful guy and loves to play! He is very busy and curious and often quite amusing. He has a great personality and isn't bothered by much of anything. He needs a playful cat friend in his new home. He is fostered with Jewell and they love to play together. He might do fine with pet-smart kids and maybe a calm dog. We estimate he was born around February 15, 2009. Bio# CF014

ADENA

Hi, I was a bottle fed kitten so I am very comfortable with humans. I am very playful and I'm not destructive. I enjoy human friends but absolutely adore my sister Ariel and would love to be adopted with her. I need a cat friend in my home, won't mind calm kids and possibly a mellow dog. They estimate I was born March 15, 2009. Bio# 2823B JH

 DARLA

Sweet, fluffy, beautiful Darla was found running around in a parking lot. She's very affectionate and loves to play. She's a marvelous lap cat and adores being petted. She is a shy girl at first and needs an understanding, mellow home. She'd be best in a home without young children or dogs. We estimate she was born in March of 2005. Bio# 2075 FG
